You might struggle with insecurity, anxiety, or depression. Living with the intense pain that comes with those realities can be difficult, even for people of faith.

I thought if I was a good, faithful Christian, then I wouldn’t struggle so much with depression and anxiety. I believed that if my faith were strong enough, I could make it all go away. But trying harder only made me feel worse when I failed. I convinced myself that I was too bad for God to accept, let alone genuinely love me.
Maybe you’ve been there. Maybe you are there. We are broken people. But here’s what I’ve learned and continue to learn: God knows our brokenness, and God can handle it. God is bigger than our brokenness, and God’s love continues to be powerful enough to make us whole.
MEDITATE: Say these words to yourself several times: God knows my brokenness, and God can handle it. Allow that truth to sink in. Ask God to make it more real to you every day so that you may live in the light of the love that sets us free.
