can I get a witness?

All I Say and Do

By: Dabria Karapita [Saskatchewan, Canada]

Recently, my friend and I were texting about our different ways of looking at creative writing.

Me: I get the most amazing ideas from the Lord. They pop up inside, and they’re easy to write because God gives me the ability to express them.

Claire: Crazy how we have the same God, but we write such different stories.

Me: We write for completely different reasons.

Claire: Well, I was taught to bless people “hands on.”

Whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Colossians 3:17 (NRSV)

What Claire said has stuck with me—and makes me wonder: How is our Christian faith put into action to bless others? I try to express my faith in my writing and when I’m having an intimate conversation with someone, as well as when I’m helping people “hands on.” I want every thought, word, and action to bring glory to God so that people will see and experience God’s blessings.

PRAYER: Lord, I don’t want you on the sidelines but in every part of my life. Show me, in every situation, what to say and do so that other people will see you in me. Amen.

Take a Risk

Tell your faith story, including the times when you felt your faith was weak, so that others may gather the strength to believe.
