Questions consume my life, causing me nothing but confusion and stress. As a result, I have focused on my understanding of the world and my hopes for the future rather than on God’s plan. In all the hectic planning, scheduling, and applying, I have trouble hearing God’s voice, telling me the steps God wants me to take. I begin to feel as if God is not answering my prayers and questions on purpose.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
Recently, I was reminded that I will not receive all the answers at once, but in single steps along the way. God’s plan is perfect, but I need patience and dedication to discern the path God intends for me.
PRAY THE PROMISE: When you’re stressing about the future, stop and breathe. Remember God’s promise in Jeremiah 29:11. Make the promise your prayer: “God, let your will be done through me; let your destiny for me unfold. Give me peace of mind and comfort. Remind me, God, that you want to give me a good future. Amen.”
