Sharing The Good News

By: Catherine Henderson [Madison, AL]

I wish I could share the gospel like they do,

I whispered to myself as I scrolled through Instagram photos of friends serving the needy in other countries. Then I logged onto my fan account, with over 3000 followers. As I scrolled through hundreds of posts written by depressed, lost, and confused teenagers, I was still wondering, How can I share the good news?

I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes.
Romans 1:16a (NIV)

My heart ached as I read the sad and hateful posts, and I found myself wishing these people knew Christ. Then it hit me. They “like” me. They enjoy reading my posts and chatting with me. Why not share the love of Christ with them? I don’t need to go to Africa or Central America; I can plop down on the sofa with my phone and offer love and compassion to people who need it. Unashamed of my faith, I am now showing over 3000 teenagers the power of God by befriending them and praying for them. I am already seeing a change in some of their posts.

TRY IT: Teens love Instagram. Perhaps you can #makeadifference in a similar way.
