Christmas is my favorite time of year. Decorations, music, food, and the joyful Christmas spirit fill my heart and keep me warm on cold winter days. My favorite Christmas tradition is spending Christmas morning with my family, drinking coffee and making breakfast. When I hear the clinking of spoons against coffee mugs and smell my grandfather’s French toast, I cannot help but smile.
When my family gathers at Christmas, I am reminded of God’s presence in our home. Christmas is not about how many gifts we give one another or how much money we spend on gifts. Christmas is a time to reflect on the love God has for my family, for the world, and for me. It is a time to remember that God has already given us the greatest gift of all—Jesus. By bringing my family together at Christmas, God fills my life with light.
