I had chosen my major, and I planned to live in a house with five of my closest friends. We were all so excited to begin this new adventure.
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33 (NIV)
Before classes started, four of my friends opted not to live in the house. Disappointed and angry, I honestly didn’t know what to do. I wasn’t sure about my major now either. I had been so pumped; now I was doubting everything.
I am grateful that Christian friends and mentors encouraged me to give my worries to God. Although my relationship with God is not perfect, it is becoming deeper and stronger. I trust that God will show me the way forward.
TURN TO GOD: No one wants to face hard times. Yet looking back, I realize that those were the times when my faith grew stronger. When things were tough, when I was broken, I turned to God in utter dependence; and God carried me through. I am thankful that I learned to trust in God, who is bigger than any storm we will face.
